Yin & Yang. That’s what first comes to my mind when I think of these two amazing people and their interaction together. The perfect combination of spontaneous and structured, with a whole lot of passion and excitement mixed in! And did I mention a whole lot of laughter too? This night was fun from the beginning right to the end. It is such a great feeling to have your clients trust you and just go with the flow and Kristy and Colby’s beautiful, natural and organic photos are the result! Despite menacing black skies and rain earlier in the day, the summer heat wave couldn’t stop us from enjoying ourselves and being treated to the most amazing golden hour light at Innerkip Highlands Golf Course on this early August night.
Kristy and Colby first met at Innerkip Highlands, and had their first date there too so it was only fitting that we should take their engagement photos at a place that holds such meaning for them. In particular, we made sure to take photos on the sixth hole. Several years ago, that green became the beginning of their story together (as for that part of their story – you’ll have to ask them – all I’m going to say is…..very smooth & nicely done Colby!)
And I’m really glad we got the opportunity to take photos in the soft glow of the sun (not only because we got the best photos!) but also because their October wedding will be at sunset at their ‘Sunset Ranch’. Kristy and Colby are such naturals that I have no doubt their sunset wedding will be stunning.
Innerkip Highlands has long been one of my favourite places to golf and I have often thought of how amazing it would be to take photos in this wonderful little patch of heaven where the Queen Anne’s Lace flourishes. The sun crests just over a small hill at sunset and the glow is spectacular. It was such a treat for me to meet and get to know these two and then to take their engagement photos in the very spot that I pass many a night of golf. And to not just take photos with my phone!! When Kristy and Colby said they were up for photos on the golf course I knew just where to take them. Thank you Kristy and Colby for the way you embraced these photos – they are just simply stunning!
Get ready for a few (okay more than a few) meadow-y shots – I guess you could say I went a little crazy with photos in this breathtaking spot! Just couldn’t get enough of these two, and their natural interaction together, combined with the epic glow of the fading August light.
The view at 13 is so so beautiful (unless your golf ball has found its way to the water of course……:))
A bit of bubbly as we head to our final photo spot for the night – the sixth hole.
Sneaking in just one last shot at the bridge at 18!
Congrats Kristy and Colby on your engagement and I cannot wait to celebrate with you, your family and friends in October! I have no doubt that it’s going to be one epic night at ‘Sunset Ranch’!
