Have you ever attended a church wedding that just stole your heart? There’s something magical about watching two people commit to a lifetime of love and devotion in front of their closest family and friends. Recently, I had the privilege of photographing such an occasion for Trina and Roger, two of the nicest, kindest, and most lovely individuals you will ever meet.

Their winter wedding, that took place just days after Christmas, was a true family affair, with their children standing up for them as their wedding party in the quaint little church. Outside, the air was crisp and cold, but inside the warmth of love radiated from every corner. As a photographer, I specialize in capturing timeless, classic moments. And there were plenty of those on this special day! Including watching Trina as she came down the aisle on the arms of her mom and dad, who were just beaming from ear to ear with happiness for her and Roger!

One of my most favourite moments after the ceremony was when we photographed Trina and Roger at the very same pier where they walked hand in hand the night they had their first date. We took photos of Trina and Roger sitting on the exact same bench where they had talked for hours on that first night and where they return every month to mark that day – how absolutely romantic! It was like time had stood still from that first day to their wedding day, and I felt a bit teary as I captured those moments for them. I just love the way they look at each other, and hold each other’s eyes, and speak without saying a word.

But the celebration of love didn’t end there. Every detail at their dinner was a perfect reflection of the two of them, including all the amazing foods they love. Their evening festivities truly celebrated who they are and their incredible joy together and zest for life. And, with a nod to the couple’s first date, the meal was served at the same restaurant where they had dined that fateful night. With choreographed dancing to their favourite song, they had everyone’s hearts melting.

As I look back through Trina and Roger’s wedding photos, I am continually struck by the deep emotions and love that shine through each image. It’s moments like these that make me realize why I love being a photographer. I get to capture fleeting moments that will last for generations to come.
