In the midst of record-breaking summer heat (seems we’ve been having a lot of that lately), it was such a privilege for me to ‘mask up’ COVID-19-style and meet this wonderful little family of 4 as they introduced their newest bundle of joy to the world.

It is always amazing to me to see how families adapt so easily to the addition of a new member. And this family was no exception. It was as if their little son and brother had always been with them and as if he had always been a part of each family adventure.

And such a sweet boy he is! With an easy-going temperament, and a big sister who adores him and treats him so gently, you can see that it’s going to be very easy to spoil him!

And this session was indeed a fun family adventure from beginning to end…….I am so grateful to mom who insisted on heading out to a hidden gem of a spot that I have been past probably a thousand times but never ever knew existed.

We took advantage of the morning light in the nursery to capture some great family pics including lots of hugs, giggles, and outright laughter. And of course, to snap a few important pics of that signed baseball by Roberto Alomar nestled up against a future baseball hopeful!

And then, after patiently waiting for the sun to dip lower in the sky (and trying to avoid that time of night when all the bugs start to come out in the cooler temperatures) we were indeed rewarded with some of my favourite photos of all that looked like we were in a tropical rainforest. And can I just say how absolutely perfect mom’s outfit choice was for this setting?? She channeled just the right vibe for this summer night!

I am so happy that I got to know this family, to share joy with them in those precious early sleep-deprived! newborn days, and I just love what we were able to capture. To me, these are some of the greatest memories of all to cherish, as children grow up so quickly. It is sometimes so hard to believe they were actually that little in the beginning. I so look forward to watching this family as they grow together!!
