The golden hour has always been my favourite time to capture photos of newly engaged couples amidst the beauty of nature in my photographs. The soft, warm light creates a magical glow that adds a special touch to any photo. So when Colleen and David suggested meeting up at The Niagara Botanical Gardens at golden hour for their early fall engagement session, I was beyond excited.
As I arrived at the gardens, I was immediately struck by the stunning scenery all around me. The lush greenery and vibrant flowers of the gardens provided an amazingly beautiful backdrop for Colleen and David’s session. The dappled sunlight filtered through the leaves, creating a dreamy atmosphere that was perfect for capturing intimate moments between them. I felt like a kid in a candy store, with all the locations to choose from!
I carefully scoped out the gardens, scouting to look for the best spots to set up our session together. I wanted to make sure that each photo not only captured the natural beauty of the surroundings, but also highlighted the love and connection between Colleen & David. Finding the perfect balance between the two was a challenge, but one that I eagerly took on.
As you will see from their gorgeous photos, as the golden hour approached, the light became even more magical, casting a warm golden glow over everything it touched. Colleen & David looked absolutely radiant as they snuggled and laughed and posed among the flowers and trees, their love and genuine connection shining through in every frame. I couldn’t help but smile as I captured their joy and their excitement at being newly engaged in their photos.
There were so many memorable moments from their engagement session where Colleen and David shared quiet moments together, and basked in the glow of the setting sun. As the sun started to fade quickly, I snapped photos in rapid succession, to make sure we didn’t miss a single frame.
As Colleen & David’s session came to an end, I felt a sense of satisfaction knowing that I had captured some truly beautiful and meaningful moments for them. The golden hour in the botanical gardens had provided the perfect backdrop for their love story, and I was grateful to have been a part of it. Their session got me super excited for their wedding day later this year!
