I met Deanna in the early summer of last year when she was the maid of honour at her close friend’s wedding in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario.
So it was a wonderful surprise this summer when she and I re-connected on the occasion of her recent engagement and upcoming wedding!
I was so happy to have the chance to get to know her better, as well as meet and connect with her fiancée Colton and to learn about their story together, hearing about how they met many years ago through friends…..and have been together ever since!!
Just like the rustic, simple, relaxed wedding they are planning, they too are relaxed, easy going, and fun. Which made choosing the beach at sunset for their engagement session the perfect location for their personalities to show through!
One of the reasons (among many) that they chose their specific wedding venue (I’m keeping that top-secret now until closer to their wedding!) was because it was near the water…..and given their mutual love of travel to places that have water as a central focus (some very beautiful places in Canada and beyond I might add!) and all things outdoors including activities like camping and hiking, taking their engagement photos at the water seemed to just suit them perfectly! And sure enough, we captured some wonderful photos, most especially when they were joking around and just having fun with each other.
And while you can see how beautiful those photos were when they were laughing and having fun, you can also see their romantic side together…..rocking out some amazing soft, romantic photos with the sun setting gloriously behind them.
Deanna and Colton are such an awesome couple who made me feel immediately comfortable with them. You can see that they are a great team together. I can’t wait to join them and their families, and to laugh, have fun and capture some wonderful memories for them. And…oh yeah….they will be having all that fun with a little one in tow, as their family is about to be expanded by one. Congrats to both of them on the news that they have more than one reason to celebrate in the years ahead!!
