Picture this: a gorgeous, pastel spring floral, garden-themed wedding, set against the backdrop of a crazy weather day with huge gusts of wind and rain that wasn’t about to let up for anything. That’s what Ann and Adam’s wedding day, set at the stunning Whistle Bear Golf Club in Cambridge last week was all about!
Despite the elements, Ann and Adam were beaming with happiness from the moment we met them in the morning until the end of the day. You just couldn’t permeate the glow Ann had, or the smiles on Adam’s face.
It was as if the rain and wind didn’t even really exist, and that their entire focus was on marrying each other, and celebrating their union with their family and friends. Truly they kept their thoughts one hundred percent laser focused on what was important – their love for each other!
For these two, who love to be active outdoors hiking, biking and kayaking, and who have weathered other rainy days together (including a memorable bike trip in Scotland!), it seemed to be just another regular day……..they did more than even make the best of it, they brought out the joy in everyone!
Capturing moments like these is what I live for as a photographer, preserving authentic memories in a timeless and classic way, capturing the essence of love that is pure and true. Like a fine piece of art, each photo tells its own story, evoking emotions that resonate deep within us. And then there are always those light-hearted, comical photos (a few bloopers below where the wind got the best of everyone!) where you get a peek behind the scenes to see what the day was like in each and every moment.
As the photographer, I couldn’t help but be drawn to the bride’s exquisite veil, so unique with delicate florals woven in like a story of its own. Every detail of Ann and Adam’s wedding was so thoughtfully curated, with florals at each and every turn in the bridesmaids’ dresses, the grooms’ and groomsmen’s ties right down to the handmade welcome sign ushering their guests in to their ceremony and reception, a true labour of love with many hands that made it so special. As you scroll through just a few of their absolutely stunning photos below, you are in for a real treat for the eyes. Despite the weather, you’d never know the kind of day that was howling just outside the event space at Whistle Bear.
Just like the changing weather on their spring wedding day, love can be unpredictable and wild. But through it all, it remains steadfast, a ray of sunshine in the storm. This wedding was a testament to that, a celebration of love that knows no bounds. A real family affair, Ann and Adam were surrounded by so much love and affection, including a gaggle of beautiful nieces and nephews, like these two sweet flower girls – so sweet!
In a world that is constantly evolving and changing, there is something comforting about the classic things that stand the test of time. Love is one of those things, a timeless force that binds us all together.
As I look back on the photos from that magical day, I am reminded of the power of love and the beauty of human connection. It is a privilege to be able to capture moments like these, to freeze time and create memories that will last a lifetime.
So here’s to love, in all its forms, and to the beauty of a spring garden wedding that will forever be etched in my memory. Thank you to Ann and Adam for allowing me to be a part of your special day, and for reminding me of the true joy and magic that exists in this world!
