Sonia and Bobby are a lovely, quiet couple. We met them on a beautiful summer night at the Guelph Arboretum for their engagement session. They quickly became naturals in front of the camera and the night flew by as we soaked up the golden late summer light before it disappeared completely.
Sonia has a dance background so of course we had to have them dance in the fields at the Arboretum!
It was wonderful to get to know them better through their engagement session and to hear about their wedding plans while literally just walking and talking in the woods (and taking a few engagement photos along the way). Their ceremony and reception venue Tapestry Hall has such a cool vibe and is so elegant, artsy and unique – it is easy to see why they chose it as it will be a wonderful reflection of both their styles and sensibilities.
We learned about their plans to build a mini house as a rental property and about Sonia’s excitement about teaching in the fall. Jim was in his element as he is always happy to talk to a fellow teacher and swap stories. We also learned about how important family is to both of them – they may have relatives coming from as far away as Norway to attend the wedding and perhaps attend her brother’s wedding too as he will be getting married just a few months before Sonia and Bobby.
We travelled around the many beautiful garden areas of the arboretum as we chatted and heard more about their wedding plans. There was a comical moment towards the end of the session (but I’m not going to give that one away!)……
We are so looking forward to meeting up with Sonia and Bobby again in late summer, along with their friends and family, at what is sure to be a classy, elegant wedding at Tapestry Hall (I am already dreaming of all the spots where we can take photos next to the cool sculptural elements inside the hall!). Can’t wait!
