Welcome to the world sweet Georgia peach! You decided to fast-track your entry, arriving on your own terms, a few days early. This adorable little bundle has definitely melted her parents’ hearts)!

It was incredibly special for me to be asked to take photos of Georgia’s first days. With Vanessa and Tyler’s home as the backdrop, we captured some amazing memories, including images that reflect the rhythm of their everyday life, and that capture the essence of who they are as a new family of three. Newborn photography can have its small hiccups and this day was no different. Patience is key! Little ones, including Georgia, have their own schedule and sometimes, well, we just need to move according to their plan. But it’s all part of the experience, and it led to some lovely candid and heartwarming shots that captured the unpredictable excitement of this beautiful journey called parenthood.

I have to admit, there is nothing quite as pure and captivating as the delicate beauty of a baby’s fingers, curled around mom and dad’s fingers. And what about those irresistible little toes?!! They hold a similar power to enchant and captivate. Those fingers and toes wiggle and squirm, exploring their surroundings, eager to leave their playful mark on the world and begin to explore what will no doubt be endless adventures.

With her tiny size and preciously small fingers and toes, Georgia reminds us that in this beautiful journey of life, it is often the smallest of things that impact us the most. In our interactions with these sweet little ones, these humble, genuine details remind us of our human connections, and the profound impact such small wonders can have on our lives. As a photographer, I have been fortunate enough to witness the wonder that just spills out from these miniature miracles, and I cannot help but be captivated by them over and over again.

There’s something really special to me about newborn photography. We get to freeze time and preserve moments that are so fleeting. Tiny fingers, button nose, delicate eyelashes. Not to mention cuddles, so many wonderful cuddles (I got to get a few in myself!). These images of Georgia with her mom and dad will serve one day as portals to the past, windows into the heart and soul of a fleeting moment when she was so tiny. Each image will become a sort of time capsule, preserving the beauty of Georgia when she was just a wee newborn and she began transforming her family to include her in it. I am honoured to be the witness to the memories they are creating together that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Someday, when Vanessa and Tyler look back on these photographs years from now, they’ll be transported back to the early days of Georgia’s life, reliving the emotions and memories that are so easily forgotten with the passing of time. Each image will serve as a reminder of the love, joy, and tenderness that filled their home during those early days (made harder to remember by such little sleep!).

I consider it a true priviledge to capture these precious moments for Vanessa and Tyler. The trust and vulnerability that parents show me during newborn sessions are truly humbling, and Vanessa and Tyler were no different, inviting me into their home during a time of transition – a wonderful transition, but a transition none the less. With each session with sweet little ones like Georgia I am reminded how precious life is, and to soak it all in! Welcome, welcome Georgia!
