We had to reschedule Sylvia and Fernando’s engagement multiple times due to covid, but it was well worth the wait! Sylvia and Fernando had originally planned on eloping on April 23rd so we had a March engagement session scheduled (not always an ideal time of year for photos, with it being right between winter and spring seasons, but we needed to get their engagement photos taken before their elopement and so decided we would do it in March even if there were no buds on the trees yet!). In the end, having a July engagement session was infinitely better, including so much warmer! And this night was the perfect reward for the wait. Overcast skies could not deter us, and the slighter cooler temperature meant we didn’t have to contend with all the mosquitos!
Sylvia and Fernando have many wonderful qualities about them – they are kind, and sweet, and being positive is also one of their most awesome qualities! These two have remained positive through the many ups and downs of living through a pandemic in the year you are engaged, including having their elopement postponed 4 separate times (yes! It’s even hard to do elopements during a global pandemic!). They brought that same wonderful attitude with them for their engagement session and it shows through in their gorgeous photos!
They kept the night focused on each other and were inseparable, always being connected, holding hands even when we were walking and talking together! With an easy, unspoken affection between the two of them, and a great combination of quiet, two souls together kind of moments along with easy laughs, the night flew by just as quickly as it had started.
Sylvia and Fernando chose the perfect outfits for this session, offset by all the pink, purple and yellow wildflowers of the meadow. You can see why they would have chosen the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory for their upcoming elopement – you can hear their excitement every time they talk about the butterfly release that they will do once married inside the conservatory. And the tropical feel to the butterfly conservatory fits them to a tee! It will be such a unique setting to celebrate the beginning of their next chapter, just as unique as they are. Sylvia and Fernando I am so glad that I get to be the one capturing your memories for you!
